PUMPKIN CAKE TUTORIAL
Some of this is shown using a styrofoam ball and some in real cake. It just worked out how I took the photographs. But I think you'll get a feel for how this works and be able to make your own pumpkin masterpiece!
If you would like to make this into a demo or a class please contact me for more information.

add vertical support for center of cake. Add supports under board to hold upper cake section secure.

Add cake for upper section. carve vertical ridges for detail of pumpkin

Take approx proportions as shown and mix together thoroughly. Roll out thinly and apply to a buttercream covered cake.

cake is covered. This is not accented with browns, oranges and yellow powder colors. Just play with it until it is the color you like.

I covered this on a piece of Styrofoam so it would stand up at the bottom on board.

have your leaves made, dried and dusted. Set aside until needed.

make sure to cover your board and make any accents that you want to decorate your cake with, such as this gumpaste spider.
